We are off to San Diego & LA this weekend to see some friends and family! Can you believe it's my first time ever to LA? I am going to try to not overpack (that's tough for me) and instead, stick to a few comfy versatile pieces like these. Hope you have a great weekend!
FOOD STYLING
HAND LETTERED VEGAS
I finally got around to taking pictures of some of the hand lettered signs on Main Street. It was HOT out but it was worth the discomfort. There's so much character in these signs! You can see a few more on my Instagram.
3 PRETTY THINGS: GOLDEN PONIES
Golden Ponies is a lovely shop of handcrafted leather goods from Guadalajara, Mexico. These are my favorite picks, but I encourage you to visit the shop, there's lots of good stuff there and they are having an end of season sale.
DRESS OF MY DREAMS BY M MISSONI
How perfect is this dress?! I mean wow!
Usually I love Missoni for it's signature zig zags & vivid color combos. But here, they have taken this all white mod-inspired dress and relied on texture instead of color to make the pattern pop. The result is so sweet and demure! I also really like the styling with these colorful accessories. The whole look is very nice indeed.

COLOR LOVE 7
This purple/lilac theme reminds me of my teenage bedroom walls. I love how serene and sophisticated this color combination looks.

INSTADIARY 9
Here's what I have been up to lately:
1 & 2 - I ordered some awesome temporary tattoos from Tattly. Really fun and cute to wear.
3 - My vegetarian chili turned out tasty, it's a recipe adapted from the Mad Hungry cookbook.
4 - Wil and I had some Gelato last night which is kind of a necessity in this 105 degree weather, yup- you read right, it's like an oven up in here!!
5 - A quick visit to our favorite new pizza spot in Vegas, Pop Up Pizza. We are thrilled to have them in our hood.
THE STARK WHITE TOWNHOUSE
PRETTY CASITA
These are some cheerful home goods I've come across recently on the internet. If you follow my Instagram, you know I love to cook (and eat). I also enjoy making my food snapshots look as appetizing as possible and a big part of that is, of course, making the shot look stylish and colorful. A simple way to do this is by mixing in some vibrant textiles, plates, and utensils.
Whenever my budget allows I try to stock up on some eye catching kitchen accessories. I'm a big fan of Marimekko so I just had to share these plates which are on sale now at Crate & Barrel! They're great for perking up your table for the summer!
OUTFIT 4: MONDAY BLUES
I like to start Mondays off with comfortable and colorful outfits. I think it helps me get in the mood to tackle whatever the day brings. In my mind bold pieces shouldn't be confined only to the weekends. So go ahead, mix in some classics with a twist and let your personality shine through!
STREET STYLE 1
These lovely ladies prove that rocking some black and yellow is not just for the bees!
THIS IS SUPERBAD
These are some promotional flyers I worked on this week for a DJ friend of mine Slopoke. If you are ever in SF on a Sunday night and looking for a good time definitely check him out at El Amigo Bar or on Wednesdays at the Church Key in North Beach!
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
Life is really great right now. I bought a new car last week and we went on our first mini road trip to the Hoover Dam on Sunday. Hopefully that will be the first of many adventures this summer! I am trying to convince Wil to go to LA this weekend, wish me luck, because he is all caught up in work right now. So yeah, I am sooo smitten with my little car, I even caught myself singing this song the other day while driving. Ok, I'll stop gushing now. Promise.
MARC JACOBS RESORT 2013
RENE GRUAU
I wanted to share some of my favorite works by fashion illustrator Rene Gruau. He was a master of bold color pops and effortless glamour. The women in his illustrations make me dream of adventures in far off places dressed in expensive clothes... See more of his work here.
